One of the unexpected pleasures here at Rosario Resort is at check-in, when guests are treated to delicious chocolate chip cookies baked by are Pastry Chef Felicity Milne. Felicity began her culinary career in 1980 with a course at the Cordon Bleu School of Cookery in Johannesburg, South Africa, her country of birth. Having a great love for travel, she thought cooking would be a skill that would take her to many places. She has cooked at an upscale resort in South Africa, a cross country ski resort in Tahoe, worked as a private chef for a lord and lady in London, a bakery in Hawaii, a personal chef for 12 senior executives in a San Francisco high rise corporate office and has been a chef/event planner at an event site in a ‘painted lady’ Victorian in San Francisco.
After all that running around, Felicity moved to the San Juan Islands and began a bakery in Friday Harbor in 1998. Felicitations Bakery is where her love for baking grew! She enjoys all aspects of baking including bread making and pastries. After closing her bakery in 2003 she joined the culinary team at Rosario Resort & Spa, where she has enjoyed creating desserts, breads and spectacular wedding cakes in the beautiful surroundings of Orcas Island.
